The Lutheran Service Society of New York has been providing services to people in need in the western New York community for over 100 years. Our mission is “to provide
human care and educational services to individuals, families and children in Western New York.”
The agency was established by Lutheran congregations in 1901 with a primary focus of providing pastoral care services to individuals in the inner city and institutions. As
the needs of the community changed, the types of services provided by the agency changed.
Today the agency offers services in the areas of adoptions, counseling, service coordination for persons with developmental disabilities, substance abuse professional
services, and spiritual care services to individuals living in adult care facilities,
